We will be holding a Winter School on Quantum Information and Cold Atoms from the 25th to the 27th in Maynooth. Details can be found here. If you would like to attend, please let us know. There is no fee and everybody is welcome.
John Goold survived his viva today and his thesis work has earned him the right to wear an old-fashioned gown in some weeks time and receive a fancy piece of paper out of the hand of the President! Congratulations John!

Nicola LoGullo will start his MSc with us this fall, after being awarded an IRCSET scholarship.
Mark Tame from QUB will be visiting us next week (21st to 23rd) and give a talk on Thursday at 9.30 in the large Photonic Meeting Room in Tyndall. Title: 'Universal resources for measurement-based quantum computation'.
