Quantum Optics Group

Yuqiang rejoined the group in October 2007, having completed his BSc in Applied Physics from BJUT, China.  He is funded through an IRCSET postgraduate scholarship and will continue his involment with microsphere resonators.   He is currently working on the optical trapping of a microsphere pendulum.

Yuqiang previously joined us for 12 weeks during the summer of 2006 as an SFI-funded undergraduate UREKA student.  Yuqiang was a third year undergraduate student in the Beijing University of Technology, China where he majored in Applied Physics.   While in Ireland, he was involved with our microsphere laser setup and learnt about the various components used in optical network systems.
