  • 1999-2002: B.Sc., IDSG College, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India.
  • 2002-2004: M.Sc., in Physics, Kuvempu University, Shimoga, India.
  • Oct. 2004- Feb. 2006: Worked as a Junior Research Fellow on “Optical Tweezers” with Prof. Vasant Natarajan, Atomic & Optical Physics Lab., IISc, Bangalore, India.

  • March 2006- present: The instinct of understanding nature and its phenomena brought me to join the Quantum Optics Group as a postgraduate student, under the supervision of Dr. Síle Nic Chormaic.  As a part of the group, I am working with cold atoms.  We are using a MOT (magneto-optical trap) to trap and cool rubidium atoms.  We are studying the coupling of atoms with the evanescent field emitted by tapered micro-fibres.  This should enable us to trap and guide the atoms.
