The lab exams will take place on Wednesday November 21, and Thursday November 22.

Course Text

Course Description

To train the student in current methods of experimental and applied research. We will learn about optical measurement devices, use of advanced laboratory equipment, advanced measurement techniques, computer automation of advanced experiments and computer based data analysis.

 

The 12 week course will be divided into short (1-2 week) lab modules with one lecture per week.

Within each lab module there is sufficient time to complete and write up the experimental work.

All labs and assignments will have a 10% penalty per day.

 

Each Wednesday there is a supervised tutorial and lab session from 14:00-17:00 or 15:00-18:00 (based on class request). You are encouraged to come in at other times as well to complete your practical assignments.
