This web site will be filled through the semester. Course Text none
Course Description To train the student in current methods of experimental and applied research. We will learn about optical measurement devices, use of advanced laboratory equipment, advanced measurement techniques, computer automation of advanced experiments and computer based data analysis.
The 12 week course will be divided into short (1-2 week) lab modules with one lecture per week. Within each lab module there is sufficient time to complete and write up the experimental work. All labs and assignments will have a 10% penalty per day. Prior to the LED/Laser lab, there will be a laser safety exam and at the end of the semester there will be a lab exam. Each Wednesday there is a supervised tutorial and lab session from 15:00-18:00. You are encouraged to come in at other times as well in order to complete your practical assignments.
